Everything here is optional. Your Compass finds your friends on its own; the app just levels up your experience and gives you more ways to use it.

Customize your Bonds

Give every Bond a name and a color, so you always know whose light is whose.

Rename any Bond, like Mom, Jules or Tent crew
Choose the color their light shows on your Compass; it changes right away
Show or hide a Bond on your Compass without un-Bonding

Bond from anywhere

Bonding usually means bringing two Totems tip to tip. With the app, you can Bond with someone who isn't standing next to you.

Find friends from anywhere

When you and a friend both have the app connected, your locations also sync through Totem's cloud. So their Bond Light stays live at any distance, with as little as one bar of service.

Tap their Bond, then Show Bond on Map to see exactly where they are
Each update is about a tenth of the size of a text message

Everything works entirely offline.

Your phone talks to your Totem over Bluetooth, and your Totem talks to your friends' Totems over its own radio. No cell service or Wi-Fi needed, even in the middle of the biggest crowd.

I had a bit of trouble at first, but in the end it was a wonderful experience/product. It SUPER important to do any and all firmware updates on the compasses you own BEFORE you leave for your event. We did this on-site, and it was where all the trouble stemmed from. Once everything updated though, it worked beautifully🧭

The app does as advertise and extremely helpful setting up the compasses. Also helps to tracks the version number of the compass and map view. Can't wait to see what else they come up with. Truly a great company

Is the app free?

Yes. The Totem Compass App is free on the App Store and Google Play. You'll need a Totem Compass to use it.

Do I need an account?

No account and no login. Download it, connect your Totem and go.

Do I need internet?

Only to download the app, and to pre-download software updates and Event Maps. Limitless Range needs at least one bar of service. Everything else works offline.

How do I connect my Totem?

Double-click the Power Button to enter Bluetooth Pairing (you'll see a blue breathing light), then follow the steps in the app. NEEDS CONFIRM against current firmware.

Which phones does it work on?

iPhone on iOS 15.1 or later, and Android.

Is my location private?

There's no account to tie your data to, and location data isn't linked to your identity. Only Totems you've Bonded with can read your position.

It's free, there's no account, and your Totem gets better with every update. Use it when you want more, and leave your phone in your pocket when you don't.
