**Totem Compass required to use Totem Compass App.

Totem releases free software updates for the Totem Compass on a regular basis. Software Updates are released to improve performance, extend battery life, and occasionally fix bugs.

Each software version shows a different Crystal Color on power-up. This is an easy way to tell if you're running the latest version.

Features & Improvements
• Unity Mesh Network improved to now more consistently send location updates to other peers on the network.
• Users can now Mute SOS alerts by single clicking the SOS button while in Vibe Mode (Vertical Orientation). Single click again to unmute.

Known Issues
• Increased battery drain when in Day Vibe, or Night Vibe mode due to a bug discovered in our power saving measures that caused lagging device behavior in areas with high number of devices. Eco Mode is unchanged, so users can expect to see lagging behavior in Eco Mode.

Features & Improvements
• SOS Alerts now expire after 60 minutes.  This prevents users that accidentally trigger SOS from remaining in SOS until they manually disable it, or Totems that have been turned off/run out of power resulting in persistent SOS.

Bug Fixes
Fixed bug making it easier to reconnect to the Totem Compass App after disconnecting.
Fixed bug that improves comms success rate after disconnecting from the Totem Compass App.
Fixed bug which restricted long range comms while connected to the Totem Compass App.  Previously an App connection would restrict comms range after disconnecting unless Bluetooth is turned off by double tapping power.
Fixed bug that prevented some bonds from displaying in the Totem Compass App.
Momentary Bond Light split when transitioning from Vibe Mode to Compass Mode has been fixed.

NOTE: Using the Totem Compass App will currently reduce Totem Compass battery life to as low as 5 hours if constantly stay connected. This is something we're actively working on improving, but when not using the app's features, we recommend disconnecting your Totem Compass (by pressing the Power Button twice again) to maintain the expected battery life.

Software Update Methods

The Totem Compass needs an external data connection to update its software. Currently there are two different methods you can use to update your Totem's software.

1) WiFi Method

The recommended way to update your Totem's software is by connecting to your home WiFi network.

You can save your home WiFi's credentials onto your Totem by following these instructions.

Once you complete this process and save your WiFi credentials, your Totem can be easily updated any time you are home by triple-clicking the SOS Button.

2) HotSpot Method

Alternatively, you can also update your Totem Compass any time through a mobile HotSpot.

To use this method, you must change the credentials of your HotSpot to match the Universal Totem HotSpot.

Afterward, you can revert to your original HotSpot credentials until it's time to download the next Software Update.
